This cold and rainy morning was spent in collaboration with UAEX, cleaning up a stretch of Spring Creek in Springdale, AR. This site is difficult to maintain and needs lots of attention, but we are up for it!
A very productive Tuesday evening was spend at Lake Elmdale! We were joined by several of the BEST volunteers and we were able to gather a significant amount of waste as well as take in a beautiful sunset!
We spent a beautiful fall evening picking up around the water's edge of Lake Atalanta in Rogers, AR. We were very pleased to see much less trash this time!
Our clean up of Clear Creek just off HWY 112, located just outside Fayetteville, was incredibly productive! While this is a small creek, we collected 767 pounds of waste and 347 pounds of that were recycled. This event was sponsored by Sam's Club of Fayetteville and At Ease Dental of Bentonville. A HUGE thank you to our sponsors as well as our volunteers. Photo credit goes to Samantha Delahoy...Thank you!!
An evening of fishing evolved into an impromptu mini clean up. We just can't help ourselves! 68 lbs collected and 58 lbs of which were recylced. We are busy beavers in love with cleaning up!
Labor Day weekend is a popular end of summer celebration and what better way to spend it than at the lake! Our team and some of our favorite volunteers joined us at the Prairie Creek boat launch on Beaver Lake to help us collect 124 lbs of waste! We recycled 75 lbs! A HUGE thank you to our volunteers as well as At Ease Dental and Walmart Neighborhood Market of Rogers for sponsoring this event!
Our Sunday service was spent cleaning up a small area on Beaver Lake at the HWY 12 boat launch in Rogers, Arkansas. We picked up 310 pounds of waste! 183 pounds were recycled! Multiple people approached and thanked us and two of them even returned to join us and made a contribution to our mission. Their company did our souls well and we are so thankful for them.
Recently we explored the charming Tanyard Creek waterfalls in Bella Vista, Arkansas. If you have not had to chance to enjoy this gem, now is the time! We were relieved to end our time there with only a handful of waste.
Our small team spent the evening picking up one of our favorite swimming spots located on McKissic Creek in Bentonville, Arkansas. This popular spot is often called Blue Hole and is a summer favorite for so many. We collected two large trash bags weighing 32 pounds with a little over half of that being recycled. Because this area is a popular spot we returned a week later to check on it and found about a walmart sack full of trash. We will continue to monitor this beautiful creek and work to keep it clean for all to enjoy.
Our team tackled a portion of trail that borders Lake Fayetteville in Fayetteville, AR. We collected a little over 47 pounds of waste in just under 3 hours. While 47 lbs might not sound like a lot, it equated to 4 whole contractor bags! We were able to recycle 26 pounds from that clean up. There is still much work to do at this small lake and we are so excited plan another clean up there!
